Some of Stephen King’s best work is done outside of the horror genre. Joyland is the story of college student Devin Jones and his summer of 1973 as a worker at Joyland amusement park. Dev is trying to escape a broken heart and discovers new friends, a mystery and his own capacity to give of himself to others. I could listen to Mr. King write all day long and Joyland is another great read by the master.
